Charleston, SC

Well no self respecting "native southerner" can call themselves such without visiting Charleston and/or Savannah! These are just a few of my shots from Charleston.

I do not find my self interested in the typical Charleston traits that make it the city it is. Those same traits tend to be one in the same with my hometown of Savannah, Georgia. So, I look for things that I have not seen in Savannah.

This is called the "Circular Church." The church was founded in 1681 but one certainly can not tell this from its architecture. At one point in the 1800's at least part of the church was burned down but some of those bricks were incorporated into the present-day sanctuary. The church today is part of the United Church of Christ and the Presbyterian Church. The Circular Church could not be in a more perfect place for attracting visitors. In the heart of downtown Charleston the church seems to have a beat all its own which pulls you in to notice its rich history and design.

My family amused me by allowing us to truck across town before The Magnolia Cemetery closed. The Magnolia Cemetery is a place that is abundant with history and beauty. It is very similar to Savannah's own Bonaventure Cemetery but just as each of us are our very own person... these cemeteries have their very own personalities and appeal. My only regret is that I have not even seen half of what I intend to see of Magnolia Plantation.
